Information Technology (IT) industry started in the year 1967 in India. Today, Indian IT industry revenue is close to 200 billion including exports and domestic revenues. Information technology industry consists of two major components i.e. IT services and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO).At present India is the biggest exporter of IT in the world economy. From the cumulative, 70 % of the revenue is contributed by the exports while rest is domestic revenue. In fact IT is playing a very important role in all the industries and IT department has become an integral part in not only in big companies but also in SME’s and even in small set ups.
Core IT companies hire fresh engineering graduates (B.Tech.) who have basic technical skills and thereafter they train them to their specific requirement. However these companies prefer hiring Engineering post graduates (M.Tech.) for senior level positions. Attaining this higher qualification not only increases their knowledge level but also helps them in getting more lucrative and senior level job roles. M.Tech program is of two years duration and this duration has four semesters. In each semester, a student will have to study different theoretical subjects and practical and experiment sessions related with them. In the second year, the focus is more on project work and thesis as compared to theoretical knowledge of the subject.
After completing M.Tech courses in CSE there are various career options available for students. Students who are interested in academics and research area, may opt for doctoral program (Ph.D.). The Ph.D. degree will help in entering into academics and research & development firms at a senior level. However students can even get a decent job in teaching profession in many reputed engineering colleges after completing M.Tech Program. Students can also start their own business in their specialized area.
Students who are interested in working in industry can find lot of job openings in software sector. The aspirants can find many opportunities in public sector as well as many public sector firms recruit candidates with M.Tech in Computer Science Engineering. Some of these public sector companies are ONGC, ISRO, BHEL, ECIL, DRDL, SAIL, etc. Students can also appear for various competitive exams like public sector bank tests, UPSC, SSC, etc.
There are immense opportunities in private sector as well for candidates of computer science engineering. Some of these private sector companies are Infosys, HCL, Cognizant, TCS, Wipro, Accenture, etc. Moreover, students can get many job opportunities in foreign countries as well.
There are many technical institutes in Noida but there are only few good institutes who offer M.Tech courses for C.S.E. and Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT) is one such top M.Tech college in India that offers M.Tech courses for C.S.E. Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT) is one of the premier institutes in Noida and it offers B.Tech, M. Tech, BBA & MBA programs. JIIT becomes the preferred choice for the students because of the robust academic system, excellent infrastructure, facilities and more importantly because of the wonderful track record of the placements. Since the inception of JIIT, campus placement is never an issue for the engineering graduates. There are over 75 companies who are visiting the campus on regular basis to hire the fresh talent and they are considered as key recruiters. These key recruiters are predominantly IT companies however companies from Electronics, Business consultancy, Finance, Hospitality and Service industry are regular to the campus. JIIT has become the preferred campus for the recruitment for the companies because they get academically sound, well trained and groomed engineering graduates from here.
