What will be the scope of mtech in ece after 2020 in India?

The Scope of MTech in ECE will have good scope even beyond 2020 as growing technologies between hardware and software; this is something that electronics engineers have an edge in when compared to computer Science graduate. The scope for any ECE engineer is increasing day by day. And for this Jaypee Institute of Information Technology is top engineering college in Delhi /NCR pursuing career MTech in ECE JIIT provides an atmosphere to know the demand of developing technologies. Earlier the automotive industry was in the domain of Mechanical engineering but with the advent of electric cars or hybrid cars, there is a drastic inclination towards electronics. Semi-autonomous cars, GPS systems, unmanned cars are bringing in more demand of ECE engineers. In the current development hardware and software are being more and more integrated and interdependent with each other.

With the advent of Communication techniques, the need for VLSI engineers is ever-increasing in the telecom industry. MTech In ECE students will have good scope in growing product companies in India –be it design or comprehensive testing. Multiple career paths and opportunities are open within the realm of Electronics and communication like Analog and Radio Frequency Electronic Circuits: without these, there would be no cell phones, no wi-fi and not even Television. Communication and analysis of information signal processing is related to the transmission storage and analysis of information signals. Initially Engineers were working  on communication and analyzing speech, audio, image, and video signals but nowadays their  working domain is much more wider like recovering and analyzing preference data, financial time series and many more.

Humankind is advancing faster with computer and Digital Systems and these digital systems are everywhere from dishwasher to the wristwatch. Technologies like computer vision and image processing make it possible for computers to analyze data from magneto resonance imaging and other medical imaging devices to not only display images but identify diseases. Another important role is networking: The internet is having a profound impact on society, bringing people across the world together to work collaboratively from different countries.  In Control systems, Robotics and Intelligent Transportation automation is one of the important areas to reduce human hard work at the workplace; enhance their safety in manufacturing systems.

It is useful in automobiles and aircraft; biomedical applications including automatic drug delivery i.e insulin control for diabetics, controlled prostheses and robotic surgery, pollution reduction in automobiles and aircraft. Electromagnetic, remote sensing and Microwaves Communication via Radio-waves is a must for mobile devices, radios, and the internet. Radio and microwaves is also necessary for sensing for example in air traffic control radar. To see through clouds and rain is the ability of microwaves makes them very useful for measuring Earth’s climate and the influence of global change. In the area of Optics and Photonics- Using light to solve engineering issues, using fiber and lasers for eye surgery.

It also includes the field of display technology from LED to liquid crystals to holograms. A thorough understanding of the light with matter even helps animators create more convincing and realistic-looking movies. Optics are widely applicable in many fields including medicines architecture, entertainment. Another domain is Nanotechnology and Electronic materials:

In this, they develop more efficient solar cells, faster transistors to run computers, chips that can help in to track any living and non-living objects, microscopic sensors for everything from air pollution to blood proteins and to analyze minerals on Mars. In a sum up, one can emphasize that the abilities of ECE engineers in planning and executing the testing process, designing of the system layouts, and delivering the end product in a flawless way to enhance their market value. It is predicted that the market value for engineers will grow 7%by 2020.. The only reason behind this positive change of mindset is the growing connection between the electronics industry and digital technology.

Is a M.Tech in Biotechnology Worth it?

Biotechnology is an interdisciplinary branch of science and here technology is specifically directed towards creating a comfortable, convenient and sustainable environment for all living beings. Biotechnology is an emerging field and has tremendous scope in it. The field of biotechnology offers lot many career opportunities for candidates who are interested in innovative and contemporary scientific working environment. The career opportunities are not specific to any industry or job profile as Biotechnology applies to many industrial sectors such as Food & beverages, textiles, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, flora and fauna husbandry and many more. Due to the involvement of technicality and engineering applications, Biotechnology field gives rise to enormous job opportunities. In today’s time new applications, new products and amazing innovations are happening in the market each day. Thus the inference is that scope for biotechnology as a career option in immense.

Biotechnology not only offers opportunities at the entry level where candidate can join after completing their undergraduate course in biotechnology (like B.Tech in Biotechnology). However candidates can opt for post graduate program in Biotechnology (M.Tech in Biotechnology) and can expect more advanced job roles in this particular field. Candidates with a bachelor's degree in biotechnology can get a job of research technicians where they work under the supervision of senior research scientists to conduct and monitor experiments. They are also supposed to record data and prepare reports. However candidates with master's degree in Biotechnology can get an opportunity to work as a lead to a team of research projects, lab in-charge or as a teacher/lecturer in any reputed university/ college.

A trained biotechnologist can work in variety of domain as there are several disciplines involved in biotechnology. Biotechnological applications are used widely in multiple industries and there are jobs in both private and government undertakings with specializations in different sub-disciplines. Biotechnologists can work for various organizations/industries as Medical scientists, Biological technicians, Medical and Clinical Lab Technologists & Technicians, Biochemists and Biophysicists, Biomedical Engineers, Microbiologists, Epidemiologists, R&D and Process Development Scientists, Bio-manufacturing Specialists, Bio-production Operators and such positions.
Considering the existing trend and industry needs, some institutes are offering masters degree in Biotechnology. Although there are many technical universities in India but there are only some of the top universities that offer M.Tech and Ph.D. program in this emerging area. One of the eminent university offering courses in this stream is Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT), Noida.

Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida established in the year 2001, has been continuously ranked amongst the top engineering Institutes in Delhi NCR. JIIT is preferred by students for its excellent academic system, state-of-the-art infrastructure, amazing facilities and incredible record of placements. JIIT is advantageously located, as it has very good connectivity with metro station and other public transports. JIIT is one of the best educational institute offering programs in the area of Biotechnology.  The Department of Biotechnology established in year 2002 in JIIT. This department focuses on providing research based teaching and learning and provide vibrant R&D environment to their students. The laboratories of Department of Biotechnology are well equipped with instruments and the laboratories are in compliant with bio-safety norms. Faculty of Department of Biotechnology is highly educated from premium institutes and they have vast research experience. Faculty members have long list of publications in reputed international and national journals and also they have rich experience of working on sponsored projects.

M. Tech program has been designed to offer diverse and extensive aspects of biotechnology and life sciences. The curriculum of the M.Tech program offered by JIIT has been designed very carefully considering the contemporary needs of industry and research.  The M.Tech program enriches knowledge of students in various areas like Medical Biotechnology, Metagenomics, Microbial Technology, Molecular Modelling, Gene and Omics Technologies, Bioprocess and Industrial Biotechnology etc. Students are encouraged to choose electives based on their interest area.  Several JIIT students have been placed in core biotechnology companies like Panacea Biotech, Cadilla Biotech, Ranbaxy, and Premas Biotech Ltd and many government organizations as well.
